Wendy Williams Fires Producers After Reckless HBCU & NAACP Comments Got Her Dragged To Fiery Hell
Wendy Williams is STILL paying for her comments…
We recently reported that the badly built talk show host recently got on her uppity high horse to discuss Jesse Williams’ incredibly relevant and powerful BET Awards speech.
Unfortunately, the words must have been lost upon Wendy because she went totally left with her thoughts about race in America.
“I would be really offended if there was a school known as a historically white college,” Williams says. “We have historically black colleges.”
“The Wendy Williams Show” has fired several producers in the wake of its host’s blundering remarks about the NAACP. We’re told longtime producer Jason Gabel and at least two other senior staff members were let go.
“The crew had a big party celebrating what they considered a season well done,” we’re told, and “the next day [some of them] got calls saying they’d been let go.”
We’re told execs want to retool the show, adding more current-affairs coverage and pop culture.
Wendy Williams found herself at the center of a furor after saying she doesn’t believe in the NAACP or historically black colleges, because there is no “white” equivalent.
Do you agree with Wendy? Do you think she should have fired her staff?
