‘American Fiction’ Has Real Shot To Win Best Picture Says Jeffrey Wright
Jeffrey Wright believes that his independent film, American Fiction, has a strong possibility of winning the Academy Award for Best Picture. Wright was also nominated for Best Actor, and the film is up for Best Score and Best Picture… up against the likes of Barbie, Oppenheimer, Maestro, and Killers of The Flower Moon, just to name a few.
In a quick interview with TMZ Jeff said he actually hates the fact the Oscars have turned art into a competition, adding he’s just happy to be in the mix of things with all the major blockbusters that we know as Oscar favourites this year. He is honored to be nominated for the Oscars and will be happy with any outcome on Oscar night, although he is confident that his film can pull out the victory.
With a cast featuring plenty of black excellence and star power, hitting subject matter poking and prodding at issues within our culture in a beautifully humorous and human manner American Fiction allows viewers to relate in a manner actually inexclusive to race, a sign of an excellent piece of work.
