What a way to remember Breonna Taylor!
Amy Sherald, who did the beautiful blue dress painting of Breonna Taylor, is donating $1 million to the University of Louisville.
Sherald also painted a picture of former First Lady, Michelle Obama!
The gift will fund Brandeis Law School’s Breonna Taylor Legacy Fellowship and the Breonna Taylor Legacy Scholarship.
Students who are dedicated to social justice will be able to apply for fellowship stipends of $9,000 and scholarships of $7,000 beginning in summer 2023.
What’s more, The Speed Art Museum and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture purchased the portrait!
