Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, who shot at police as they broke down her door the night she was killed, has reached settlements in two lawsuits he filed against the city of Louisville, according to his attorneys.

The city has agreed to pay $2 million to settle the federal and state court lawsuits.

Kenneth Walker was first charged with attempted murder of a police officer, but as protests and media coverage in the Taylor case grew in the spring of 2020, the charges against him were ultimately dropped.

In September 2020, the city of Louisville made a $12 million settlement to Tamika Palmer, Taylor’s mother.
