Coronavirus is now the leading cause of death in the U.S.

Coronavirus is now the leading cause of death in the U.S. The death toll approaching 2,000 per day, coronavirus has taken over as the leading cause of death in the U.S. A new report using CDC data attributes 1,970 deaths per day to COVID-19, ranking ahead of heart disease (1,774) and cancer (1,641).   However, there are indications that the pandemic may be reaching its peak, with the number of new coronavirus cases dropping in New York even as death tolls increase. Is this just a temporary spike, or will coronavirus finish the year as the #1 cause of death?
