Eddie Murphy Returns to SNL Eddie Murphy returned to Saturday Night Live for the first time in 35 years on Saturday, bringing some of his most memorable characters like Buckwheat, Mr. Robinson and Gumby with him. He also gave his take on The Masked Singer. Murphy brought an insane amount of star power with him during his opening monologue, bringing comedians Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle and Tracy Morgan on stage with him.
