Morgan Freeman Captures John Lewis’ Final Message. Actor Morgan Freeman has used his powerful voice — to help bring the final words of civil rights icon and Congressman John Lewis to life one more time. Lewis asked The New York Times to publish on the day of his funeral an essay he wrote titled: “Together, You Can Redeem The Soul Of Our Nation.” Last night on MSNBC, Freeman read the essay, which urged people to carry out Lewis’ mantra of getting into “good trouble” and most importantly to vote. “In my life I have done all I can to demonstrate that the way of peace, the way of love and nonviolence is the more excellent way. Now it is your turn to let freedom ring.” Congressman Lewis was laid to rest yesterday following his funeral in Atlanta. The service included eulogies from former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush. Will you vote in the upcoming November election?
