In the book he discusses that sometimes if felt like Prince was his rival off-screen just as much as he was on-screen. He talks about his personal issues with cocaine and tensions on the set of Purple Rain. He tells a story about showing up late to the set of Purple Rain and Prince exploding on him and shoving him. The two men had to be separated by Prince’s bodyguard and the drummer of The Time. He talks about The Time being controlled and assembled by Prince.
