Rapper Common To Invest In Transformation Of Underdeveloped South Side Property Common is very proud of his hometown of Chicago and now he’s using his money to grow the city, develop jobs and opportunity for Chicago’s south side. The rapper/actor is investing in an underdeveloped property that he will turn into a residential, retail, entertainment and movie production campus. The property is formally a 415-acre United States steel plant that will cost Common $71 million to purchase. Along with bringing in investors, Common’s hope is that the transformed multi-use development will provide jobs and revive the community. If you could do something to better your community what would you do?
