Spike Lee to Direct Hip-Hop Version of “Romeo & Juliet” Spike Lee is preparing to give the classic story of “Romeo and Juliet” a hip-hop twist. The Oscar-winning director is preparing to direct the film “Prince of Cats” which will put a hip-hop spin on the classic tale. Spike’s version of the film will focus on Juliet’s cousin Tybalt and his Capulet brothers as they live their lives in Da People’s Republic of Brooklyn. Lee’s last film, “BlacKkKlansmen” was met with much praise. How do you like Spike’s idea of a hip-hop Romeo and Juliet?
