Mo Elmasri, a former employee of Jackson’s, apologized on Jackson’s behalf, but neither Jackson nor her brother Randy, her manager, approved the statement. Comedian D.L. Hughley defended Vice President Kamala Harris against false claims made by Janet Jackson about Harris’ race.  Hughley questioned Jackson’s appearance and referenced her plastic surgery, saying she had “the nose of a white woman.”
