Without Hesitation, DMX Says He’d Battle JAY-Z in VERZUZ

Swizz Beatz x Timbaland’s Instagram Live VERZUZ battles have become epic to the point that we’re alllll standing by waiting for the next battle to be announced. And the night of the battle? We’re all by our phones tuning in, hiccups and all… word to Teddy Riley.

With all that anticipation comes thoughts of the biggest rap mashup. Talks of Diddy x Dr. Dre, but what about DMX? Well, if you ask him, he’s already announced who he’s determined to be his equal: JAY-Z.

DMX declared this after being asked who he would battle on the Drink Champs podcast with N.O.R.E and DJ EFN.

Now, this shouldn’t come as a shock to those of us who have been around long enough to remember the two rappers going head-to-head a couple times in the past, including the epic Bronx Battle of the 90s. But for the rest, this is a battle that we didn’t even know we needed. The only question is: who you got?
